Review of Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed (2008) by Sheldon J — 05 Jul 2009
Great movie. It makes a great point about a topic that no one wants to openly discuss. So many of the negative reviews say something to the effect that this movie fails to "prove" ID. I think people saying that completely missed the point.
This movie was not trying to prove ID at all, it was trying to prove that ID research and writing is being systematically censored and repeled. The movie is about revealing the political nature of a science and the fact that is does have its own agendas, not about trying to prove any or disprove any one theory.
My complaints about the movie is that it was setup to appear as though Ben was an unbiased questioner just looking for answers, when in fact it was obvious that he was pushing a certainly direction the whole time.
This style of filming made it seem more propagana-ish than if he just came out and said what side he was on and why.
