If what happened to these people is even half-true, then it is clear that our world and society is slanted away from seeking real truth. Anything in the metaphysical realm is disregarded in academia. I watched the movie and I think the film has a great deal of validity.

Although it may have been more credible if someone other than Ben Stein was behind it, because of the biases the film reveals, it would have never been released if Stein had not done it.
