Review of Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed (2008) by Ross E — 11 Mar 2011
"Expelled" does a good job of showing the biases and inconsistencies in the science and academic communities. All the arguments on the design side are there, although I wish Mr. Stein had gone deeper in some of his interviews.
Throughout the entire film, we listen to scientists, academics, university heads, researchers, etc., bash intelligent design (and the people who believe in it) as absurd, stupid, ignorant, and even dangerous, only to have Richard Dawkins admit it's entirely possible in the end. In my mind, it successfully showed the hypocrisy of the scientific community. Which is, it is about disproving God, rather than finding an answer to the origin question.
I particularly liked the "practical application" featurette in the special features menu, which showed how there are scientists who are making breakthroughs by looking at problems through the lens of "intelligent design" rather versus evolution.
