Too often, there is a dichotomy implied in our society: religion, or science. Faith, or reason. But such a dichotomy is far too hasty. I understand why many disliked the film, but to be honest, it must have been INCREDIBLY difficult to create such a film about something that is forbidden in the scientific community. While it doesn't try to prove Intelligent Design over Natural Selection, it merely suggests that ID has been prematurely discarded. This is an issue that needs to be discussed.

I really think the interviews in the film served great purposes, as they made this issue much more human, more relevant. People are losing jobs because through their research, they come to potential reasons to concur with ID. We get to see the much more political side of science.

And this personally touched me, because I'm both a man of science, philosophy, and a Christian. While we accept the scientific method as the way to achieve "knowledge", it is also very flawed. Scientists try to only see the facts, yet they assume the truth of certain theories in order to further extend findings. But those theories themselves could be flawed. Thus, we take a leap of faith. Now... this is all sounding to be hypocritical.

When I say I believe in God, I will often get the question, "What about evolution?" The funny thing is, I'm certain evolution occurs in some form. Our species have evolved, changed, diverged from a common ancestor. But then the question is... HOW? That`s where ID comes in.
