Review of Expedition Happiness (2017) by Ho K — 17 Sep 2018
A pretty rough documentary with low production value (clean and inspect your lenses y'all). Where it shines for me is how it serves as proof that with a little money, a lot of time, and an innocent sense of adventure, you can experience the beauty of nature and the beauty of people one unplanned mistep at a time.
Despite the distraction of dirty lenses, the filmakers captured some beautiful images and about 70% in start to find a rhythm mating it with a beautiful self-realized soundtrack inspired by the experience along the way.
