Review of Exorcist: The Beginning (2004) by Trey M — 12 Oct 2007
It's better than the second movie, but so is putting my socks on. Brutal "horror" film comes off more like a more violent "Indiana Jones" film and is more action oriented, ditching the ideas presented in the previous films (even the second one had ideas, the movie was just terrible.
) Movie concludes with a fight sequence between the priest and the demon. Really, a fight sequence. Incredibly stupid trash, not at all scary. The film's history is more interesting than the film itself, as the film was previously directed by Paul Schrader, but the studio canned him and hired Renny Harlin to pretty much redo it.
Both versions aren't very good but this one is an abomination.
