Review of Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977) by Colin F — 02 Nov 2010

This film holds the title of being named the worst sequel and the second worst film off all time, so this was always going to be an interesting watch! To be honest it is bad but not the worst out there. The main problem is the script is so bloody awful, you get a feeling that half way though the film they have realised it is rubbish but have tried to make the best of a bad situation.

The positives are there are some good performances from Linda Blair (Its know though that this film ruined her career) and Richard Burton, who is really good but in some scenes does look a little embarrassed when saying some dodgy dialogue âI ridden on the wings of a mothâ? really??? The film is really well shot apart from some dodgy model sequences, the end conclusion sequence is worth a good mention. It was never going to be good as the original and donâ(TM)t get me wrong the script is utter rubbish, but its not the worst sequel ever made and is an interesting watch.
