Review of Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977) by Sanford R — 30 Aug 2009
This movie is pretty bad. Not the worst I've ever seen, but, then again, maybe I was just pumped up about James Earl Jones in a locust costume. That's worth one star, right?
The film is not scary, which is, well, lame, because you're watching the movie to be scared, like the first one.
The soundtrack was pretty cool too. And, I did like the theory proposed in the movie that, "great good attracts great evil.".
The strobe light that connects peoples' minds was brilliant. They even wear little Frankenstein headbands to make it more convincing.
The scene where everyone is racing to Georgetown has some of the worst dialogue writing ever.
And why, why, why do we spend 30 seconds watching Linda Blair practice her tap dancing? I really thought something was going to happen. Nope. She just tap dances while some teenage heartthrob playing "the Lullaby of Broadway" on his saxophone. Good for you kid.
