Although this movie is far better than the 2014 account of "Noah" it seems as though the producers and the directors are trying to re-wrte the actual biblical account as to what the bible actually says in the story of Moses and the exodus of Israel from Egypt.

Maybe they were trying to give a different story line than the Charlton Heston version of the "Ten Commandments". There was no need to do that, with all the technical advances that are available to us today, it would have been very easy to make an action packed movie that could have remained true to scripture.
