Review of Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014) by Keir B — 07 Mar 2015
Let's be honest !! The movie is visually stunning No doubt but what disappointed me the most was the casting, Christian Bale tried his level best to portray his own style of Moses but Joel Edgerton was the perfect Miscast, I didn't felt any evilness in him when he played Ramses and the journey of the plot was soo emotionless you feel like when this is gonna end !! I had good expectations from Ridley Scott, the charm, that emotions, that revenge what he shown in his previous Masterpiece "Gladiator", was hoping this would have something amazing stuff ..But I was wrong.
Wish Mr. Scott has the courage someone like Mel Gibson had when he made this movie. Passion Of The Christ & Apocalypto are prime examples of a director willing to risk everything for what he believes in(even if you disagree with it). And after watching this film. I can safely say Ridley only believes in money.
Generously giving 3 stars just for the VFX and the Cinematography..My suggestion instead of watching this movie , try to watch the classic The Ten Commandments and Animated flick "The Prince Of Egypt"..Thats much better than this awful remake.
