Review of Exit Wounds (2001) by Cassandra M — 05 Aug 2010
Full of action film cliches (or just copying other films), tries to be funny quite a lot with one liners but completely fails, the shape of Seagal's head is too distracting and generally just a really average and sometimes boring action film.
In fairness there are a lot of decent action scenes ranging from karate, car chases, shoot outs and some good ol' punch ups, but a lot of them get ruined by too much slow motion and at times some very odd editing. There didn't seem to be an actual plot to the film until there was only 20 minutes of the film left and throughout the whole film it just seemed to be using anything they could from other action films, but changing it just a little bit. My favourite was the quote that went a bit like; "does this make me talk? No it makes you die", surely thats pushing it a bit?! You can't really use one of the best known film quotes ever, but slightly change it, and then expect to be applauded for originality?
