Review of Exit Through the Gift Shop (2010) by Aaron S — 24 Sep 2012
Fascinating film whose stories seem to keep looping into different stories and different messages. Guy incessantly videotapes, happens into the beginning and height of the street art scene, films well known street artists, then makes a bad film and then one of the artists he films becomes the filmmaker and the original videographer becomes a famous pop culture artist.
All of this and you ask yourself 1) is this real (or what does it matter anyway) and 2) who decides what is true art. I was fascinated the entire 90 minutes.
