Review of Exit Through the Gift Shop (2010) by Kate H — 20 May 2011
First off I just want to lament the fact that I never got to see it in cinemas. I was asked once and I couldn't make it and by the time I was free is was already taken off the marquee. Damn this film. My head still hurts. It's an amazing look into street art and how people make a profit off of it in the weirdest ways when the people doing are trying to drive home the point that this is not all about the money.
Thierry Guetta (or Mr. Brainwash if you prefer) comes off as an idiot to to me just by the end alone but has he won what game there is? Is he even for real. That still makes me wonder. Is this all an elaborate stunt on Banksy's part of is that just being so shocked and us hoping that it's all wrong. It's a great film and for sure a must see. Really. It's that good. I can also assure you that you'll never look at graffiti the same way again.
