Review of Exit Through the Gift Shop (2010) by Richard M — 03 Apr 2012
This apparent documentary plays like a modern-day F For Fake, weaving fact with ostensible fact with ease. To take it as pure documentary, the journey of Bansky from guerilla vandal with a heart of gold to sought after bona fide artist with a catalogue at Sotherby's is fascination enough.
Throwing Thierry Guetta's unhinged narrative into the mix just compounds the insanity of it all. One of the best.
