Review of eXistenZ (1999) by Craig B — 06 Feb 2009
Cronenberg, finally working his way back into "relevant" films, helms this most Cronenbergian of slimy alternate-universe flicks. The "living a video game" concept is well-executed, and this is loaded with thinly disguised sexual imagery and unsettling surrealism.
Overall it leaves little impact, perhaps because it spends too much time being strange and too little time making sense.
