To be fair: I am not a fan of Cronenberg. His style is sci fi with creepy sexual overtones. This movie was no exception. The story was compelling and interesting and the acting was flawless. The rest was a mess.
There was such a cheap campiness about this film that it was like watching a 90 minute joke. All the creatures & their gooey blood & guts to the umbilical corded ports just really put me off. If you like this director's work, I am sure you will love it.
It had some good parts but if you like a flair for the bizarre, check this out. You might like it.
