Review of Exiled (2006) by Dan A — 08 Mar 2007
If Sergio Leone had ever directed a 90s-style Hong Kong actionfest, it might have resembled Exiled. Johnny To follows the Election movies with a more playful, hugely entertaining gangster thriller, with a distinct Western feel as mob assassin Anthony Wong leads his gang of gunslingers for the final time.
Stylish photography, graphic gunplay, unpredictable plotting and a surprising amount of humour make this one of the strongest Hong Kong movies of the decade so far.
