Review of Exiled (1998) by Don S — 26 Jun 2013
Two men are sent to kill him. Two men are there to save him. Five childhood friends team up to perform a big heist to set the target's wife and newborn child for life. What ensues is a violent yet poignant tale of honor, friendship, and duty.
There isn't a lot of room for character development or acting, but the chemistry between the actors is fantastic and the frenetic ballet of bloodshed and bullets recalls classic John Woo. Exiled is one of Johnnie To's best films, and an excellent addition to the crime thriller genre.
