Review of Executive Decision (1996) by Stephanie S — 09 Aug 2010
Take a look at the cast.
That's right: Kurt Russell, Steven Segal, Halle Berry, John Leguizamo, Oliver Platt. Like me, you probably think that just told you all you need to know about the movie (i.e. avoid at all costs). But as far as '90s action thrillers go, this is surprisingly watchable. There are plenty of tense moments once the action plot finally starts 20 minutes in, and 90% of the movie is WHISPERED -- and further more IT WORKS. I don't think you realize how clever that is for a pile of ass circa 1996.
This was on the cusp of earning a higher rating from me, but the last 10 minutes were a derailed trolley of fucking boring action cliches.
