Review of Executive Decision (1996) by Jason M — 21 Aug 2010
I just caught this movie again on TV and it was about as good as I remembered it being in 95' when it came out. Nothing spectacular here, just an average action flick. Kurt Russell did a good job as usual.
I'm pretty sure this was one of the first movies to kill off a superstar character within the first 15 minutes of the movie which was about the only thing that carried any ?shock value? to it in the film.
The situation was semi believable but the problem was it doesn?t offer anything above what it is already selling. The ?stealth fighter? boarding sequence was clearly the highlight of the movie. Halle Berry also played a role as a flight attendant.
This was right around the time she was starting to become super famous. There are a few noticeable people that acted in this film that were nobodies at the time: John Leguizamo, Oliver Platt, Joe Morton and J.
T. Walsh to name a few. Worth a single watch if you are bored.
