Review of Executive Decision (1996) by Peter W — 17 Jul 2011
Post Under Siege, Steven Seagal has suffered a career downturn which has never picked up. This film probably symbolises the last time he featured as a star of a big Hollywood blockbuster...AND he (spoiler alert) dies within the first 15 minutes.
Itâ(TM)s Kurt Russellâ(TM)s film from there and in some ways it serves as a reminder to us all that Kurt Russell really should have been the star of a lot more films. Not that his performance here is anything to write home about.
..but it must be said, he really hasnâ(TM)t had the output he should and could have. The action is decent, the terrorist angle is a little sketchy for multiple reasons but the cast do alright with the particularly cheesy dialogue.
Its a late night movie thatâ(TM)s best watched with your eyes half closed.
