Yet another favourite of mine when I was about 12. Back then I didn't see the OTT-ness of the whole thing, I just thought is was a great adventure epic with lashings of odd sex and blood - 2 things I still like in movies I must say.
It shouldn't work but dammit - it just does. It still looks fantastic - the costumes, lighting (LOTS of otherworldly green when Excaliber is unleashed), music etc. are all great.
And I love the over-acted, hyper performances. They even makes the film, dare I say it. This is supposed to be a myth after all not a kitchen sink drama - and I think its still pretty much perfect in what it tries to do.
Oh and did I mention there was some fantastic kinky sex in it. Oh yeah I did...
