Review of Excalibur (1981) by Raymond H — 21 Mar 2008
Here's another film that I'd say is insanely watchable. The movie is probably one of the most bombastic you'll ever see from its crazy costumes and art direction to its use of Wagner and Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" (which is already quite bombastic in its own right).
After an initial viewing, I was compelled to find the best film version of the Arthurian legends. Unfortunately, I never found a better one. So until a definitive Arthurian film is made, this is the one to watch.
And if one does get made, this'll still be insanely entertaining. :D.
