Well, despite its shortcomings, I think this is one of the best renditions of the legend and one whose characters are not that distant from those depicted in various literary sources. Armours and overly white teeth were noticeably off...
Phantasmagorical is perhaps one of the best words here. There's fantasy, there's gory, and some of the bad acting is nicely offset with this air of mysticism and otherwordly weirdness - almost as if the bad acting was scripted to emulate a behaviour that's removed from ours by both time and dimensions...
Some of the lesser knights got shortchanged with not even being named, Morgana looks a bit more like a prostitute than an enchantress and the quest for the holy grail was way too simplified. But it's still a very watchable film and should serve as both, a night of entertainment for the innocent and a good compliment for lovers of mythologies...
