Review of Excalibur (1981) by Bill L — 02 Mar 2011
The story of King Arthur with sex and violence galore. Graphically very well done; amazing sets and costume design. It covers many aspects of the legend (Lady in the Lake, sword in the stone, Knights of the Round, etc).
Overall I think it is bit too much. This story was too crammed together (oftentimes incoherent) and should have been made into at least two films. Good choice in the score with use of my favs, Orff and Wagner!
