Fast-paced and clever, "Exam" takes a simple plot (eight strangers locked in a room to figure out the answer to an unknown question) and ordinary rules (you may not leave, you may not spoil your paper, you may not talk to myself or the guard) and spins its characters on their heads by dangling the answer in front of their -- and your -- faces in a most obvious fashion.
What the audience is given is an extraordinary thriller reminiscent of men long past and a game surely not to be forgotten.
