Review of Exam (2009) by Elizabeth R — 17 Nov 2010
Do yourself a favour. Do not read any in-depth reviews. Do not read a synopsis or plot summary. Don't even read the back of the DVD cover. I wet into this knowing very little and still wish I had known less.
This is a shining example of plot twists done well. None of the cheap twists that the Saw movies throw at you, no insult to your intelligence by bending the truth (ie. A Perfect Getaway), just simple truths that you fail to pick up on.
This film is cinema at it's very best and that it comes from Britain, a country renowned for producing little more than crude humour and "gangster slag" movies, is a great thing.
Stuart Hazeldine is a talent to be watched.
