Review of Exam (2009) by Lee W — 28 Jul 2011
8 candidates take place in the final stage of the selection process for a job with a shadowy corporation. The twist? The final paper is apparently blank.
Exam gets off to a slightly annoying start, opening in "Spike Lee Joint" style with "A Stuart Hazeldine view" and informing us that the action is set "soon". Then it proceeds to telegraph the final twist before the opening credits have even finished.
But despite its faults, and some daytime-TV-esque perfomances (Jimi Mistry in particular seems miscast), it's a decent and watchable twist on the "group of strangers thrust into an unusal situation" genre.
