Review of Exam (2009) by Mark C — 21 May 2016
"8 people are put in a room together to sit an exam with one question. They have 80 minutes to solve but don't know what the question is and they begin to come up with theories and speculate the nature of the exam.".
It sounded like a really interesting concept for a film but that was about it. None of the characters were particularly relatable and the stakes at hand weren't really expressed until much later in the film - and because we hadn't seen the world this film is set in outside of the tiny exam room it's hard to see it's importance. The throw-in expected "twist" at the end wasn't much a shocker either, right from the get go this movie felt like "OH THERE'S GONNA BE A TWIST. THERE HAS TO A BE A TWIST.".
It was definitely a fine watch, but I will not be seeing it again.
