Alicia Vikander though, holy mother of wow. You will think about Ex Machina long after it's finished. It has one of the best scripts in recent years, some really thought provoking themes and messages, sleek direction from Alex Garland (you wouldn't have guessed this was his first as a director), and a standout performance from Alicia Vikander.
Just pretend she won her Oscar for this.
