Review of Ex Machina (2015) by Henry A — 29 Apr 2016
What is it to be human? Are we all subconsciously programmed from birth to believe we are? Or is the fact we can create our own existence through our experiences, and that intrinsically makes us just that? Alex Garland impressively presents these questions in this psychological thriller that astonishes and subverts the expectations to a disturbing degree.
Probably one of the strongest sci-fi dramas I've seen in a long time, with a tragedian edge that would make the Greeks proud. Watch this if you get a chance. It will surprise you with the nature of its headiness.
