Polished to the max, EX MACHINA feels heartless and over thought. Yet, it really didn't make me think of much than how it great it looks. You've seen it all before. Filmmakers have been exploring this terrain for at least 50 years.
Even the structure with its naive young man brought to a compound by a wealthy bully has been done to death. We need something new and unfortunately, EX MACHINA does not deliver.
