Review of Ex Machina (2015) by Vicyamusicgreat — 09 May 2015
One of the strengths of this fine film is that it is not the outrageous fairy tale which this movie has inevitably rendered Blade Runner, leaving it, thus, in the dust. Not that I'm entirely dismissive of Blade Runner.
Sean Young and Daryl Hannah were never better. But this film's ability to absorb the contingencies of real life makes it far more than any dystopian-utopian popcorn movie.
