Review of Evita (2009) by Stephen K — 31 May 2008
This is a true musical in every sense of the wordl....a hard thing to sell in a time where some audiences demand big loud explosions and CGI effects. Madonna, Antonio Banderas, and Jonathan Pryce hold their own and do a wonderful job bring Webber/Rice hit to the big screen.
What makes this musical so powerful is its ability to evoke such emotions through its music. With such recent hits like Chicago and Hairspray, Evita should not be over looked as a musical to experience.
