Review of Evita (2009) by Billy G — 08 Sep 2011
The costume changes, the singing. There remains a reason for the immense popularity of this film and the play that inspired it. The dramatic life of Evita Peron served to highlight one of the most important figures of Argentina and indeed the last century.
A woman of power and Madonna's performance in this musical gives it merit and does justice to the woman whom inspired a country and left a gaping hole in it when she was taken by cancer. This remains a poignant story for the masses.
