How about that? Madonna is not bad in this one. Perhaps, because she shares similarities with the character and it is basically a feature-length music video... Her vocal training for this role served her well. I agree with her Golden Globe and her lack of an Oscar nom. Interesting that Antonio Banderas plays here also, since she reveals in her documentary "Truth or Dare"/"In Bed with Madonna" a few years previous that she had a huge crush on him and was excited to meet him, though disappointed when she discovered he was married.
In other news, it's a well-made film adaptation of an often shallow musical, though begs some quirks in its effort to make it a vehicle solely to serve Madonna.
