Review of Evita (1996) by Shradha B — 06 Nov 2007
Havent seen the musical so it is hard to compare the movie with the original. yet I would say the big screen version was quite disappointing. the music was good (i *love* 'another suitcase in another hall' among others) but failed to make the musical less monotonous. madonna looked good but too old to play eva peron and her acting was also mediocre (cant blame her for that I guess). banderas' character was quite lame I thought, making me wonder why he even took the role in the first place. jonathan pryce fit the role well but his bad wig was distracting.
All in all, failed to impress.
