Review of Evil Dead Rise (2023) by Arkonblade — 12 May 2023
It's a decent horror movie but a bad Evil Dead movie. Any Movie called Evil Dead that doesn't have Ash shouldn't even be bother to be made or call it something else. Its like making a Die Hard movie without John Mclain, it's just a bad idea. If you try and forget you are watching a movie called Evil Dead its ok. Some decent horror and scares but plot wise its very basic. Kids find a book after a earthquake, the words get spoken, and bad things happen. Not even close to as good as Evil Dead 2 or Army of darkness. doesn't have the feel or the humor. I know Bruce Cambell is getting old and doesn't want to do play Ash anymore which we should have gotten more Evil dead movies with him 20+ years ago but its time to recast Ash then and get back to Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness style movies again.
I dont want any more Evil Dead remakes or reimagining's or what ever. Just get us back on track with Ash again.
