Review of Evil Dead (2013) by Cade H — 17 Oct 2013

The original Evil Dead was very campy, B movie horror and actually provided some laughs, for this remake the tone was completely different. This straight up, bloody, gory horror flick was full of nonstop thrills and more blood then I have seen in a long time.

There was no B movie stuff to be seen and no laughs at all, it was dark the entire time. It tried very hard to be scary and at least for me it did not accomplish that, although I can see some parts where some might have been freaked out.

There was nothing special with this one and they used lots of similar parts from the original but just made them top notch and bloody this time around. The ending was sweet and there were a few stand out moments but it seemed like they used the over the top gore factor a little much at times.

If you saw the original and liked it, definitely check this out and be ready to see tons and tons of bloody body parts.
