What a tremendous remake. I'm always skeptical of remakes, but it does a great job of taking the original ... keeping the same general premise but adding so much to it. Better effects (which are obvious with a bigger budget and also movies have gotten better in 30 years) and fans of the original should appreciate many of the nods to the first movie (even little things like the Michigan State sweatshirt).
As much nostalgia as I have for the originals, I welcome this movie with open arms. I really enjoyed it.
