Sick to the core would be the perfect adjective to qualify this remake of the much classic & let's say cult classic horror film from the 80's. This evil Dead new generation is very bloody, extremely serious in it's ambitions & far more elaborated than the original.
Does this make it a better film? No, the original is walking on a thin line between grotesque, spoof, horror & fun, this one goes strait for the big chills, graphic bloody scenes & violence. Lacking the elementary fun of the original.
It's still a pretty good film, sick for sure, but very different from the original, almost a reboot more than a remake. Some fans will be disappointed, some people will dig the new twisted take on the story, as always pro & cons will have a good time debating on blogs.
.. truth is, it's just a movie, see it for the sake of it but don't go too crazy about it... after all the original Raimi's one will forever stand on the DVD shelves as the classic one...
