Review of Evil Dead (2013) by Marcus M — 22 Oct 2013
"Not the scariest film, but definitely one of the goriest. And I like the actor who played the teacher." That was my original review for this film, those two sentences. Now that I have seen the film twice, I wish I had been more detailed because I was highly entertained with this film.
I have to give props with first time director Fede Alvarez, he gives a cutting edge remake while staying true with the 1980s classic. Sure the film has some crappy acting and cheesy dialogue, still Fede puts it aside with gory, disturbing violence, good old-fashion special effects, and quite a few effective scares.
I look forward to his next project. This film lives up to its logo "The Most Terrifying Film You Will Ever Experience" Or at least the second or third this year.
