Review of Evil Dead (2013) by Matt C — 21 Oct 2015
I've never been a massive fan of the original film (or horror comedy in general) so I was pretty open minded to this remake. The first hour of this is actually really, pretty good. It's genuinely unnerving, pretty weird and quite scary in quite a nasty way.
It loses steam in the last third, but then these sort of films nearly always do. For a first date, girlfriend jumping into your arms, popcorn going everywhere kind of movie though you have to say this is a success.
