Review of Evil Aliens (2006) by Erin W — 02 Dec 2006
An amusing horror B-movie, Evil Aliens is a cheapo intentional knock-off of such Thatcher-baiting classics as Evil Dead and Braindead. An in-depth review is pointless, so instead I thought I'd point out everything I considered to be a reference.
Evil Dead/The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - chainsaw, POV cam, comedy eye violence, isolated cabin with trophy mounts.
Alien - unexpected monstrous pregnancy, 'one of us is infected'.
Braindead - limbs being torn off, geeky lead, death-by-lawnmower.
Predator - the alien look.
Night of the Living Dead - planks used to stave off the attack.
Zombie Flesh Eaters - eye-stabbing.
Day of the Dead - referenced by name.
Independence Day - computer virus.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - Mexican standoff.
Shaun of the Dead - cricket bat as weapon.
Four Weddings and a Funeral - multiple swearing.
Signs - crop circles.
Delicatessen - rhythmically-edited sex scene.
Razorblade Smile - spoof filming of.
Ed Wood - "let's shoot this fucker!".
Jaws - "we're gonna need a bigger boat".
The X-Files - "we are not alone", etc.
Star Trek - the Vulcan 'V'.
Most Haunted - general style.
Countless horrors - the stalling car.
