Review of Evil Aliens (2006) by Tico P — 18 Jan 2009
A stupid science fiction splatter flick that rips off every film of the genre imaginable. Directed by Jake West (Razor Blade Smile), this whole charade is more of a homage piece to the genre, than a rip off exploitation flick.
In the vein of Peter Jackson's "Brain dead", humans are abducted, experimented on and transformed into ruthless aliens. After a teenage girls abduction and rapid pregnancy, foxy TV reporter, Michelle Fox from "Weird Worlde" and her crew travel to Scalleum Island to document the weird and unknown. This is the home island of the mysterious "Devil's Teeth" stone circles.
Echoes of "The Evil Dead", "The hills have eyes", "Invasion of the body snatchers", "Alien" and even "Brain dead" are to be expected. But it is all quite nicely put together.
Some nice Spaceship CGI effects and buckets of blood everywhere. Some of the flashy camera angles are obviously inspired by "The Evil Dead".
You'll either hate it or find it charming.
