Review of Eve's Bayou (1997) by Alexander C — 27 Nov 2012
I watched this movie and had an experience I never had. It was like reading a very poetic and lyrical novel. Well paced and deep with emotions and spirit. It is an all black cast, but they are shown in a much diffrent light as opposed to the stereotypical roles given to them.
My favorite character is the one played by Debbi Morgan, Moselle I think. The scene where she is telling Eve about her dead husband is so emotionally charged that you can almost feel the diffrent feelings she goes through.
