This story about a artistic girl who clings to her imaginary friend from kindergarten isn't as clever as the director seems to think in the DVD extras. It's pretty much a stock romance plot. Their attempt at psychological explanations of why Abby's so emotionally stuck are frankly laughable.
The acting isn't too terrible. The script could use work.
