Review of Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex *But Were Afraid to Ask (1972) by Ivan M — 03 May 2012
A funny early film from Woody Allen. Despite it having many moments which made me laugh, I don't like it. It's dull, childish and the humour is ridiculous the majority of the time. The structure was always going to be a difficult part of the film, judging by the book it is based on, but it to me seems like a whimsical experiment that didn't go well.
It's funny, and I don't blame people for liking it, some sketches being extremely funny, particularly the final one. But all in all I don't think highly of it.
