An interesting exploration of alcoholism. ferrell is very good here in a mostly dramatic role. i'm not sure the movie quite earns it's way toward how two of the central characters end up in relation with respect to one another, and there is one plot twist that probably wasn't necessary.
that said, there are many nice quiet moments here and the cast is strong.
