Review of Everything Must Go (2011) by Jeff H — 07 Oct 2011
When you are feeling a bit down just rent this one and voila, you will feel great because you never want to trade places with Nick Porter (Will Ferrell)! Usually Ferrell plays comedies but he did a decent job on this drama about a career salesman (he held a VP position making a great salary) whose days of being on top are long gone.
The same day Nick gets fired, for falling off the wagon one last time, he returns home to discover his wife has left him, changed the locks on their home and dumped all his possessions out on the front yard.
He turns to alcohol again to deal with life's disappointments and holds a "yard sale" to cover the ugly truth that his wife left him and dumped all his things..Being an alcoholic is very sad and going through a major career loss and divorce certainly is enough to drive many people off the deep end.
Can Nick Porter survive this one or will he become another statistic? Well you have to watch it but I assure you, its a very good film!
